As we venture in to our third week of lock down across the country due to the current Pandemic sweeping the nation, the staff team are continuing to deliver exceptional daily care and engaging activities to all the residents. As we have had to restrict the visitors to Mother Redcaps for safety reasons, in house activities are crucial to ensuring residents remain stimulated and the days pass by with enjoyment and laughter.
Most recently, the residents of Mother Redcaps have celebrated Mothering Sunday and started prepping for Easter weekend. It was lovely to see multiple deliveries of flowers and treats for all the Mothers living with us, reminding the residents of their loved ones, particularly as they were unable to visit during these unprecedented times. The staff team also set up an arts and crafts session for Easter, residents either chose to make Easter cards or decorations for the home.
Easter Sunday meal preparation is currently underway by the catering team to ensure it is a delicious, enjoyable experience for all, including those who have specialised dietary requirements.
The Season’s festivities ran throughout the whole of December at Mother Redcaps Care Home, Christmas Day was spectacular and enjoyed by all residents and staff alike.
What really made the day special was in the involvement of the Residents in preparing for the Christmas Day, from helping with the decorations to deciding what was going to be on the Christmas menu for the day. The ladies enjoyed dressing up, putting on their make up and hair accessories and the gents donned their Christmas hats ready for a dance and sing-a-long. It was lovely to see all the loved ones coming to visit their families and if requested they joined us for Christmas Dinner too!
We also held a Christmas Party earlier on in December and were lucky enough to raise almost £300 for the residents fund due to the support from the lovely relatives and local community.
